Workplace Communication

From Conflict to Cooperation
(Half-day or full-day training)

Conflict can be useful and creative--or painful and unproductive. Either way, few people
feel comfortable with it. Often in the attempt to solve a conflict, we make it worse. In
this practical training, practice specific skills and tools for navigating conflict at work.
Participants learn how to:

• recognize four basic conflict styles
• respond calmly rather than react emotionally
• prevent minor irritations from escalating
• reduce defensiveness in oneself and others
• disagree without being disagreeable
• mediate conflict between others
• use creative approaches to soften conflict

Dancing with Co-workers:
Building Positive, Productive Relationships with Colleagues
(Half-day or full-day training)

To get your job done, you need to work well with people at all levels. In today's
complex work environment, influencing others can be an art form. Sadly, many people
learn the importance of influence only
after they've failed to use it and paid the price. In
this training, participants learn to:

• treat co-workers as respectfully as outside customers
• gain support for your ideas
• create win-win agreements
• influence co-workers when you lack authority
• cross personality, age and gender barriers
• influence others from a distance
